Hotel reservations must be made through the Brownfields 2006 Travel Desk by October 10, 2006, to receive the discounted rates listed.  Please do not call the hotels to request a reservation. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.  If your hotel choices are not available, you will be assigned to the next available hotel.  All room rates quoted are subject to tax.  The tax rate is currently 12.45% and is subject to change.  To receive the government room rate, government participants will be required to show an agency-issued picture identification or official agency travel authorization at the hotel registration desk. If the required forms of identification are not provided at the time of check-in, the hotel will charge the non-government group rate.

All of the hotels are conveniently located to public transportation.  Maps and directions will be provided on the conference website in the near future.

(1)    S/D – Single or Double Occupancy; Triple and Quad Occupancy may be available at additional costs.  All rooms are subject to the room tax, currently 12.45%, and subject to change.

(5)    "Going Green" hotels have instituted energy efficiency and environmentally preferred practices into their hotel operations.

Reservation deposits/guarantees are required for each reservation and are accepted by credit card. An amount equal to one night’s room rate and tax will be charged to your credit card on or after October 30, 2006. All deposits will be credited to the individual’s room account. Wire transfers, cash and purchase orders are not accepted.  Hotels will charge “No-shows,” guaranteed reservations not canceled, in accordance with the hotels’ cancellation policy.

Acknowledgments will be sent by the Brownfields 2006 Travel Desk by e-mail, fax, or mail approximately 5 to 7 days after reservation processing.  Acknowledgments will be sent faster if an e-mail or fax number is provided online or on the reservation form. The hotels may not send a separate acknowledgment.  Please review all acknowledgment information for accuracy.  If you do not receive an acknowledgment within 10 days after making your reservation, please contact the Brownfields 2006 Travel Desk at 800-584-9047 (US/Canada Toll Free) or +1-312-527-7300 (International callers). Only one acknowledgment will be sent for each reservation.  A copy of your acknowledgment should be provided to the hotel registration desk at the time of check-in.

Changes/Cancellations/Refunds on or before October 11, 2006, can be requested through the Brownfields 2006 Travel Desk online, by telephone, fax or mail.  Reservation acknowledgment numbers must be referenced on all requests for changes, cancellations, and refunds.  Changes and cancellations cannot be processed on October 12-15, 2006.  After Monday, (October 16, 2006), all changes and cancellations must be made directly with the assigned hotel. Cancellations requested after the hotel’s individual cancellation date will result in forfeiture of your entire deposit.
