Who Should Attend?
Are you a developer looking for business opportunities in prime locations throughout the country? Do you own or represent owners of properties that are ripe for redevelopment? The Brownfields Transaction Forum is presented to encourage new real estate transactions and is a must-attend event for:
- Commercial, residential, and industrial developers
- Industrial and commercial brokers and asset managers
- Real estate investors
- Financiers
- Individual and corporate property owners
- Land trusts
- Community and neighborhood development organizations
- Municipal, state and corporate real estate managers
How Does the Transaction Forum Work?
- Property owners should submit detailed information about each site they plan to present and the communities in which they are located via the registration links (below) by October 20, 2006. (Portfolios containing multiple sites are encouraged). The information provided will be made available as fact sheets to be distributed at the event.
- Property owners and their representatives will set up information displays about their properties and the communities in which they are located in the Brownfields Transaction Forum area of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center prior to the forum. Display spaces will consist of tackboards 8' wide and 4' high for posters with tables underneath for handouts and other informational materials. See section below entitled, “What Should I Bring to the Transaction Forum?” for details.
- All Transaction Forum registrants will be given color-coded name badge ribbons with their Brownfields 2006 registration materials that will identify them as participants. Ribbons will indicate whether an attendee is representing available properties or is seeking prospective properties.
- Property owners and their representatives will remain at their display areas to meet with prospective purchasers who will be circulating through the Transaction Forum.
- Property owners may begin setting up property displays on Monday, November 13, at 8:00 am, after they have picked up their registration badges at the conference registration desk.
- Attend educational sessions to learn how to purchase, sell, lease, and obtain financing for brownfield deals. Such as Transforming Communities: Brownfields as Catalysts for Revitalization and Capital Creation: Understanding Equity Investment in Redevelopment Deals.
What Should I bring to the Transaction Forum?
- Site owners are also asked to prepare and present 8' x 4' storyboards, poster-sized displays about their properties and the communities in which they are located. Displays should include photographs and aerial photographs, maps, site and community data, and contact information for the listing agent or owner. Empty tackboards with your property(ies) name and address will be available along with materials for hanging photos and other informational materials on the storyboards.
Click here to see a storyboard template you may wish to use in assembling your materials.
- Site owners are also encouraged to bring reference materials and handouts for distribution about their properties and communities which would complement the storyboards. Examples of such materials include marketing materials about the community in which the properties are located, master plans, and information about local and state incentive programs.
